In September of 2005, following a discussion of current real estate market conditions, a group of Re/Max Select Properties agents decided to create the Real Estate Action Council - REAC. Using SHARE as its model organization development, planning began. Ann Noel had been a member of SHARE and a development committee was formed which she chaired.

     SHARE was founded by Betty Plashal, a Realtor with Long and Foster. Betty founded this marketing network group of Realtors, lenders and builders and named it SHARE. The networking group had monthly educational meetings during the late 1980s, a time of recession in real estate and the economy.

     On January 11, 2006, the REAC held it first meeting and membership drive. Betty Plashal became our first member. REAC has a current membership of over 80 and continues to grow.
